FeatherSnap Scout smart bird feeder
We earn a commission when you buy through store links here, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. How this works
The FeatherSnap Scout is a solar smart feeder with a wide 180-degree view, listed around $180 and often on sale for less. Live view is free, but AI bird ID and video capture need FeatherSnap Premium.
FeatherSnap is sold in big outdoor stores such as Bass Pro, Lowe's and Academy, which is why many people meet it in person before they meet Bird Buddy or Birdfy.

How it compares
The Scout's wide view shows the whole feeder, which is nice for busy feeders but makes each bird smaller in the frame than Birdfy's portrait lens. The bigger difference is the subscription: Bird Buddy gives species ID for free, while FeatherSnap keeps it in Premium.

Who it's for
- Good if you want to buy in a local store and like a wide view of the whole feeder.
- Skip it if free bird ID matters; see feeders without a subscription.
